It’s always nice to receive presents; this is one of the reasons why birthdays and special occasions such as Christmas are so memorable and enjoyable. The giving and receiving of gifts is always fairly enjoyable, provided that you know what you’re doing and don’t buy or receive any inappropriate presents. For most of us, gifts are received at two or three fixed points of the year, and we know the exact moments when we can expect to benefit from the good will of our friends and family. This is nice, though I’m sure that most of us would like to see a more regular inflow of gifts.
This is where gift of the month clubs are stepping in to provide a monthly present for people. There’s an absolute plethora of different ‘gifts of the month’ that you can give, involving things like steak, chocolate, cheese, flowers and beer. The variety of choice within this market allows buyers to tailor a gift of the month to the tastes of their intended recipient, and provide a more valued and memorable offering.
Gift of the month schemes can be ordered for a variety of time spans, and therefore can be given as a one off gift, despite being notable for being a recurring and long-term gift option. Year long gift plans aren’t always considered a viable option, as the most popular ones cost between two hundred and five hundred dollars.
It could be argued that standard gift baskets are a better alternative to these item specific gifts, though the benefit of gift of the month clubs is that they hand pick a range of similar products, and claim to have specific knowledge of marketed products. This enables them to select the best products available. This common boast is reflected by the popular claims on gift of the month schemes that their product selections are ‘gourmet’ or in some way superior to what you’d be able to find in supermarkets.
From hereon in, I’m going to focus on fruit of the month selections. Fruit of the month deals are becoming increasingly popular and specialize in providing exotic, rare and top quality fruit. Experts with a sound knowledge of the fruit industry often choose the fruit selections, and although the scope for fruit of the month selections seems fairly narrow, there are a lot of different types of fruit of the month selections available. Examples of different types of fruit selections on the market include, organic fruit selections, exotic fruit of the month, location themed selections and taste specific selections (for instance you can get selections where all fruits are different varieties of avocado fruits).
Whilst most fruits perish within a short space of time, these selections can be a well-received and enjoyable present. The novelty of receiving healthy food is often very appreciated, and the inclusion of exotic fruits can introduce people to something new, which adds a positive element of surprise. It’s even possible to obtain your monthly recommended dosage of fruit from these selections, so you could argue with reason that this type of present will save you time when you finally get round to buying your groceries.
Fruit of the month is a decent idea, and is a good gift option, though there are plenty of alternatives. The better selections seem to be rather popular and it’s nice to see something healthy being promoted as a gift option. However, there’s no guarantee that fruit selections will be a great present, and if people aren’t particularly keen on the gift, they may become annoyed about the recurring arrival of unwanted fruit. That said, presents like this are quite a good idea, just make sure that you’re aware of the tastes of your intended recipient. Alternately, if you’re buying for yourself, make sure that you buy something specific to your tastes, and perhaps don’t take a gamble on something that you may not like.
